Apart from that, much of what is said about this programming language and operating approach becomes easier if you start with yoga4d.org/talks, then follow yoga4d.org/city, -- perhaps begin with Dosbox if you are uncertain whether you have a real good standard PC with 3*4 monitor and Vesa-compatible videocard at hand -- and work with my Lisa GJ2 as of 2007 in replacement to the earlier versions of the Firth language as of 2006. Welcome etc comes rather in the middle of this text. THE FIRST ONE IS A LITTLE EXTRA, AFTER ALL, INTROTEXT OR TUTORIAL. PLEASE GET IT, IT IS HERE: yoga4d.org/ln5man.txt HAVING GOT THAT, READ IT. IT IS USEFUL. YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT IT TO THE STANDARD FOLDER IN THE INSTALLED PLATFORM WHEN EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE (THAT IS, AFTER YOU HAVE DONE WHAT'S IN THIS TEXT, AS FOR INSTALLATION OF LISA_OAC). THE STANDARD FOLDER IS C:/BOEHM/BOEHMIAN (OR, WHEN ACCESSED FROM WHAT'S CALLED LISACODE, WITH BACKSLASHES, C:\BOEHM\BOEHMIAN). PLEASE ALSO GET THIS PROGRAM, AND PUT IT TO THE SAME PLACE: yoga4d.org/timing.txt IT IS A GEM. IT IS A NECESSITY. DO HAVE IT. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, GET THIS: yoga4d.org/nod501.txt AND PUT IT TO THE LISA FOLDER, WHICH IS A SUBFOLDER TO THE STANDARD FOLDER. IN OTHER WORDS, PUT NOD501.TXT TO C:/BOEHM/BOEHMIAN/LISA. THEY ALSO APPLY. THEY CONCERN CHANGE OF POLICY IN WEBSITE USE FOR MY NOW ONLY TWO WEBSITES, yoga4d.org AND yoga6d.org, AND THINGS LIKE THAT. THE FOLLOWING PART CORRESPONDS TO THE INSTALL.TXT WHICH IS INSIDE THE BOEHM/BOEHMIAN/LISA FOLDER IN THE INSTALLED COMPLETED VERSION. ================================================================= ====================== =============== === ================================================================ Corrections to the following text -- as last minute update before releasing the text: (1) after very, very careful consideration, I have reached the decision that only and all the texts which are part of the platform will be sustained, and that henceforth, all mentioning within this text and within the platform itself about 'the texts on my stable websites' should be reinterpreted, when it applies, to mean 'the texts which are part of the stable Lisa_cd platform.' This is because the platform turned out much better than I thought, and so conveys in essence and in detail much more of what I sought out to convey. It is also very useful; and it has, after all, quite a few of the texts, including the Supermodel theory book a.htm (it is in C:/YOURTEXT). This correction must apply also to Lisainfo.txt. (2) any reference to websites, even the reference to download location for Lisa_Oac, should be correspondingly altered. For instance, the correct download location is the top level of yoga4d.org (rather than a lisa_oac subfolder under yoga6d.org). yoga6d.org is streamlined towards a commercial design company with this platform as one of the many unique power tools -- pls be welcome to use us! Here, you can clear RAM often by exiting and re-entering programs. [This is install.txt. There is a large arrow deep down into this document made out of the phrase BEGIN HERE, and if you are about to, or have just, downloaded a bunch of the .dat's at yoga6d.org/lisa_oac then that is probably the part of this document you FIRST want to look into, at the practical level anyway -- though why not read the whole shebang. That part describes how to get the CDs burned properly so that they can boot a very standard PC. Notice that those who merely switch on your computer, with the Lisa_OAC, will not be advertised to this fact: they will think that the appropriate action is to type NOW so as to start Lisamenu, where, of course, neither the conventional Firth234 sex/text games (here with WARPMIND.BAT somewhat altered) nor the Lisa_Cd Cartoon Dimension (somewhat, but vaguely, manga-inspired) erogames are in any way strongly announced. Rather, it will seem to be a neutral, though unusual, creative workstation. You can also type NOD instead of Startit; or you can type :LISA/CD IN when you have clicked on the Thinking panel in Lisamenu; or you can type :LISA/NOD IN when you have started FIRTHLIS from Lisacode. I am sure there are still more ways. THE BEST WAY TO SWITCH THE PC OFF AFTER A SESSION OF GREAT WORK: Get to Lisacode (e.g. by typing XO, if you have just typed NOD, or by pressing ESC then selecting option 3 when at graphical lisamenu), and type THANKS and let it roll and press ENTER. This ensures, doubly and triply and quadruply, that the file buffers are flushed properly to the harddisk. If it is a good while since you have written to the harddisk, it is okay, if your own gut feeling vouches for it, just to switch it off at once. (If the PC is not standard enough to go off by the command OFF which THANKS calls on, it is very off-standard, but then type THANKS anyway and when it's done, switch it off. In case, send a self-righteous email to the manufacturer of the PC to only make standard Y2000-compliant PCs; you are free to give them this whole text in case they don't know what it is.) This is also a good idea to do if you have e.g. a laptop which accumulates statics so that its mouse pointer device will run amok but the lightest touch or so -- laptops should be switched off regularly during intense use, given a little break, and switched on again. REBOOT? Only some PCs reboot fully when one types ANEW on Lisacode; e.g. some laptops only reboots 'as if' leaving some drivers intact and so THANKS is recommended to ANEW. REINSTALL OFTEN? Please keep the CDs ready and decide once pr month to do good rejuvenation both of you and the PC. Get everything saved, of new works; and saved really well. Then reinstall, and feel the radiance of such great good PC hygienics. This, of course, mostly so for PCs used a lot. WHY DON'T YOU LIKE INTERNET? Who? Me? I ADORE it. All the time. I LOVE it. No question. I just don't want networking with other PCs to get priority over working with my own PC. And Lisa_CD is for working with my own PCs. How else do you think I have been so productive? By checking on new emails every fifteenth second? And also, in terms of esthetics, I know of no great inspiration coming from network objects and the completely unnecessary and peculiar forms of graphics that companies erect around them. Nor are the programming languages -- if one is to be so generous as to name such things as people who work much on networks use by that worthy title -- there of any actual elegance. In the world of small talk, STAND OUT. Then, network with elegance and ease, because you are grounded. And having been well grounded, you can fly well, for you have tranquility; and so you will land well and do great works both while flying and when at ground level again. Lisa_OAC is made to complement the chattering styles of network-oriented platforms. I do not at all feel uncomfortable with the fact that no other platform has done what Lisa_OAC does so well. This was meant to be. Lisa_OAC does so in a way which will stand forever. I PROMISE THAT. By my best intuition and by my strongest will and passion combined. HOW DO I DECIDE WHETHER A PC IS STANDARD (IE, Y2000-COMPLIANT)? Take the Lisa_OAC CD with you to a PC store (or wherever the PC in question is). See if you, by turning it off and on with the Lisa_OAC in it, can boot the PC (some PCs require a boot menu fixing by pressing a function key, usually announced on the screen the first few seconds after turning it on). IT WILL, IN ALL LIKELIHOODS, BEEP OR GIVE SOME MESSAGES WHICH YOU HAVE TO PRESS A FOR A)BORT OR I FOR I)GNORE TO GET BEYOND. BUT BE OLYMPIC AND UNRUFFLED: THESE MESSAGES DO NOT MATTER AT ALL. If you get it to boot and get it, even by pushing, to accept keyboard input at a so-called command line, then type the following (and try D: or E: if C: doesn't fit, this depends on whether there are any freedos-compatible partitions already on the harddisk; but try both DIR before being sure that you should change letter, because the system is very harddisk-friendly but a bit sluggish on activating CD sometimes) C: DIR DIR CD BOEHM CD BOEHMIAN FIRTHLIS LISAUP START-GRAPHICS LISAMENU-PALETTE NEW-READLN and if you see some sort of dancer foot - like pointer symbol when you move the pointer device, and see some blue text on a black background when you type some letters (they will be uppercase); and the format -- check it by moving the pointer device as far as it goes to each of the corners, and measure very carefully -- of the visible area on the screen is rather three units in the height and four units as width -- AND NOT WIDER!!!!!! -- then, if it has no less than 512 MB RAM, it is very very likely indeed you'll get it to run. The line with many words must be one line not split into several and please write it exact, though uppercase or lowercase doesn't matter. (The more technical list of specs I give in the next paragraph.) When the test is over, get your precious Lisa_OAC CD back, and switch the PC off. [The other messages which comes up on screen after the FIRTHLIS LISAUP should be ignored before you have done a full install and start it, then, with the command LISAUP instead, which does some magic & tricks with .BAT files, suitable for the constant refreshing of RAM which occurs when the graphical Lisamenu starts also low-RAM sensitive applications] LIST OF CRITERIONS OF WHAT IS A STANDARD PC -- AND DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS FROM THE PRESENT (EARTHIAN) INTERNET: yoga6d.org/lisa_oac (as part of full package for quick installation of complete platform of the lisamenu operative approach for computers, with all compilers, perl, c, lisp, etc, for the Y2000-compliant PC -- with Vesa1-compatible video-card, 1024*768 256-color compatible display with analog frequency tolerance level, harddisk 40 GB or more (or maybe somewhat less), two-button standard mouse, english-compatible keyboard, usb ports an option but not required; no reliance on extra high-level ports nor any biometrix startup drivers or the like; serial port and paralell port, and ideally also internal-style of plug for joystick, in addition of course to keyboard and mouse; no reliance on voice input or output or the like; no attached mechanisms for video-input, robotic arms or such gadgets; 4 MB or pref. 32 MB videoram available to all platforms without special drivers required; internal PcSpeaker (and for the sound-freeware included, conventional 1995-standard SoundBlaster, no other soundcard), internal Cd-Rom (optionally 1995-standard Cd-burner standards; but at least Y2000-compliant Cd-burner standards which e.g. work with RH8), and 32-bit Pentium/Intel compatible CPU, no more yoga4d.org/lisa_cd.zip (for those who already have the Firth234.zip platform with its Programs.zip, and also Lisamenu.zip correctly installed, as an expansion) Note: this platform is not licensed for use within a larger context where a so-called dos emulator is called upon or anything like that; cfr the notion of first-hand programming as coined by this author; and also cfr the notion of compassionate anarchy also as coined by this author -- numerous writings on both these themes on the websites (which are also given as token to big-bucket sponsors, on CD), which in some sense are completed (despite the announcements, here and there, on the websites that they are to be expanded and put more in bookform, they are already considered to be complete). IT IS VITAL THE LISA_OAC GRABS CONTROL OVER THE ENTIRE PC AND THAT IT IS PHYSICALLY A 386/PENTIUM-COMPATIBLE 32-BIT MACHINE (or 16/32-bit, to be a bit more precise). Speed of CPU should be around a gigahertz; RAM no less than half a gigabyte, at most a couple. The PC should not have any peripherals when used for the Lisa_OAC as a creative-intuitive mindful workstation, nor any other partitions than at most one other set, for RH8, in the ideal case. Feel the force. CAN I ALSO HAVE THE WHOLE LISA_OAC ON MY WEBSITE, OR IN MY BOOKS, ETC? Yes, of course. Just read this text yoga4d.org/cfdl.txt and follow it to the letter -- no joke. Basically, what it says is this: do not add a bit or byte or anything, do not substract a bit or byte or anything, in other words, keep it whole, unmodified, with everything intact. Whatever you make yourself, keep it in a separate .zip, which may or may not include the original stuff -- but if you do any modification, you ALSO bring along the original version IN ADDITION, and NOT JUST AS LINK. Reasons are plenty, and good. Also, please do not this out of greed, but out of respect for a sentiment of goodness which is pro-erotic. But as a start, if you are unsure whether you wish to redistribute the whole thing, why don't you just launch your own works which can work with it, and give a link to yoga6d.org/lisa_oac? (That is, by the way, the only place I can vouch for -- you know how people can be, the virus-makers and all those). Use the get_it.jpg if you think it is a pretty link-thingy, but please only use it to point to Aristo Tacoma's download location (me, alias S.H.Reusch). DATE OF THE PLATFORM: The standard Y2000-compliant PC (that is, a PC which corresponds to the original IBM PC description of the 1980s with such standard expansions as came in the forthcoming ten-fifteen years, e.g. as exemplified by the Compaq computers in the early 1990s, but with such a speed and capacity range as was typical in the beginning of the 2000s -- when it became psychologically pleasant and convenient for artists and writers alike to use such equipment, relative to first-hand style of programming e.g. on Forth, the forerunner, we might pompeously say, to Firth -- Forth was made first by Charles Moore in the 1960s to control telescopes and satellites in an easy interactive language and the most vital interesting form later on was maybe the WinForth by Tom Zimmer from www.taygeta.com/forth.html, in addition to Java experiments by FigForth UK, -- Firth is however written entirely from scratch, first in Pascal, then later re-implemented towards the assembly by DGJPP work, and has not only an entirely different naming convention, but also an essentially different idea on how to do things with stacks and what the structure of these stacks should be, and how one should handle the relationship to hardware as well as the questions on modularity and relationships to activities or objects which are referenced by instance rather than known by name -- which led this author to coin the term 'warp-friendly', as an (also pompeous) evolution from 'object oriented' -- the style of Lisamenu, written in Firth, or Firth234, is called Lisamode and this is esthetically inspired by Lisp e.g. as found in Goedel, Escher, Bach -- an eternal golden braid by Douglas Hofstaedter, however without any element of support in the slightest to the fascination that some immature souls have about 'artificial intelligence' or the simulation of mind) -- the date of this is ALWAYS April 10, 2006 10:00 A.M. And the command AT (type CALL AT if you start if from the graphical Extras LISAMENU panel) freshes it back to this. The date in the Y2000-compliant PC has a range just of some decades anyway. So by this, you have a scifi computer. At this date, the computer works well. This shows also the timelessness of the intent of the platform, which is not having a versionnumber. There are some minor mistakes (such as the B menu advising that the word to start a graphical Firth menu is SYDNEY whereas it is in fact is SEVILLE, as mentioned many other places) but nothing more than that which one can very easily learn to live with. It goes along as an AFFIRMATION that, with Lisa_CD, you can have a rejuvenating kind of energy emanating from it by often doing the AT at Lisacode and also do F3 at the Lab (with extra Juver's this is suitable to intone certain types of e.g. silicon-rich materials in ways which accord to the notion of generating more coherence in them -- I'll return to this much later). But as said, the Lisa_cd extension was completed in May-June 2007, two seasons after the Firth234 completion. IS LISA_CD YET ONE STEP AMONG MORE TO COME? This is it. This is the completing stage. However, there is, put very simply, an infinity of possible applications of Lisa_Cd which I am not touching on here, also, but not limited to, making new applications in this very powerful language. A keyword is warp, but that is for stamash training courses, which soon starts in Berlin. HOW TO DO LISA_CD A GOOD TURN: Get the file get_it.jpg from the collection of files associated with this install.txt (e.g., within c:\boehm\boehmian\lisa or from the yoga4d.org/lisa_cd.zip) and put it to your webpage, with this link on it: Or change the http:// prefix, or perhaps more, if another network service is the relevant one. SOME GENERAL INFO This is INSTALL.TXT as contained within the LISA_CD.ZIP package and ALSO as contained on the top level of the LISA_OAC CD. The reason that this install.txt is the same for the two things -- the LISA_OAC being a complete platform, an operating approach for computers (including the Lisa Cartoon Dimension package of course), the LISA_CD.ZIP being only the extension of the (earlier, also made by me) Lisamenu operating approach (which extends the even earlier, also made by me) Firth234 operating approach -- is that I want to encourage those who install the LISA_CD.ZIP package on top of their already installed Lisamenu platform to realize how simple and elegant installing everything from the one-disk version now has become, if you have a Y2000-compliant Personal Computer. My business idea is as follows: I will distribute the Lisa_OAC CD as the second CD in packages which contain two CDs, the first being commercial, and commerically copyrighted (still open source of course), and so that it has a price, therefore. The first CD is what the customer buys for, the second CD is something of great use for those who have never started a Firth Lisamenu or Lisa_CD program before in their life (for it saves them the trouble of going to a network and downloading files and burning them to a CD with a proper iso-burning tool). If the customer already have Lisa_OAC CD, then the extra CD will either serve as a backup, or the customer can simply donate this CD #2 to a friend as a gift, for the Lisa_OAC CD is, of course, when completely unmodified, whole, untouched, something which can be wildly and freely distributed. If you want to go into the business of selling open source Lisamenu / Lisa_CD programs of some sort, you are of course entirely at liberty to do exactly the same. Since this INSTALL.TXT then assumes a certain important role, I have endavoured to make it still more important: it also explains, in painstacking detail, how to get the bundles of 10 MB from the Internet so as to assemble the Lisa_OAC CD in the first place; and, even more, it also describes how one can do the same for the associate GNU GPL platform made by others, an early Red Hat 8.0 (free, the version which was then developed into Fedora). Briefly put, this platform is in the LISA_OAC context ONLY used to provide three things in the main, although of course it has temptations such as Gimp Image processor. Those three things, in order of likely interest for the Lisa_OAC interactor, having a dedicated PC to meditative and artistic/erotic/scifi work, perhaps of a manga-inspired kind as in the Lisa_CD finesses, are: (1) Access USB-drives, especially tiny drives, when these are vfat-formatted, as often is the case when they are considerably less than 30 GB (the format vfat, or vfat32, is a technical name where f refers to file, a to allocation, and t to table, and this is the standard which eventually grew out of the 16-bit original IBM PC-compatible disk format standard, and it is absolutely to be preferred, in this author's opinion, to all other formats when it comes to mindful and heartfelt first-hand programming, for it has a simplicity, even if it's hierarchical, which commends itself; the only way, of course, to get textual control over the computer in a full way is to ensure that the underlaying dos-structure is so that the textual commands work as mnemonics and are short and snappy, and the 8+3 filename and foldername size without blanks vividly enforce this in a way which proves to encourage great structural thought), (2) Burn CDs, (3) Extremely simplistic, rather with analog modem, Mozilla 1.0 access to a network like internet. In addition, having an extra partition on the harddisk like this, in addition to the main Lisa_OAC partition, allows of course not only for swift backups but also for a complete possibility of recovery of all file structure without having to use any extra CDs. It has taken this author some time to work off the habit of assuming that the more peripherals, the more multitasking, the more option a computer has, the more interesting and fruitful it is to work with it when one is developing something new, writing a completely new text, or in general seeking a meditative space within which to roam within one's sense of fantastic silence and space. I believe that my websites, including models-and-consulting. goldeye.info, models.goldeye.info, muchincome.goldeye.info, geocities.com/atiroal, geocities.com/aristotacoma, but even more so, the main yoga4d.org and yoga6d.org, argue adequately why first-hand relationship to the duration of a computer, its pixels, and the particular relationships between its data and its programs, in a way which is free from peripherals, multitasking, and network connections (generally speaking), in a non-object-oriented but warp-friendly language, does something great to the mind, and allows your heart to express its intuitions. The bridge, however, is soon called for: that bridge might be the USB flash disk, or the burned CD. Having been creative, one may want to get a great amount of data and programs, texts and images and such, uploaded to the Internet or another network. One takes with oneself the disk and logs on to a terminal with a zillion ads flashing and popping while cookies compete for domination in a PC with the latest version 3.2.6.7.88.2.1.x beta of virus-firewall-shadow password, and gets it into the circulation. It is a different mode of being. Like going from meditating under a violin concerto to a rock concert. (Both have a function). Back to the violin concerto. By the way, that is a metaphor, for sure, for the meditative approach of the Firth, Lisamenu and Lisa Cartoon Dimension involves no use at all of sound facilities on a computer. Since this text, INSTALL.TXT, is written in May/June 2007, and since hardware and software developers all over the world are perpetually active -- let's hope in a genuinely fruitful way -- it is not unlikely that new types of questions, not answered in this text, may arise as to issues about installation. I can anticipate one already: if flash disks get tera-byte sized, their typical formatting will no longer be vfat, then how to force the USB disk to have vfat when it doesn't? But I am not going to handle all eventualities here, simply handle those which seem most pertinent at the moment, and leave the rest to helpful and always-updated sites. Right. So this was my new introduction to this INSTALL.TXT. Scroll ahead and you'll find the original introduction to it. I hope this text put it in context. I should also mention of course, that one should always add some salt to a text, whether it is written by one eager enthusiast or a bored over-sized company about to be destroyed by a private equity group. Print it out, and read it up and down and have a pencil ready, where you indicate to yourself what might be a mistake in the text. And keep your mind with you (unlike your ego) when you do the install. =========================INSTALL.TXT begins here:::=========== *** FIRST, if you have in your hand (or beside you, or near you) a LISA_OAC CD then congratulations. It is freeware. Perhaps you have another CD which is a program you have bought, and which presupposes you install LISA_OAC first. Good. That's great. So this is often the case: the game, or whatever, which is tailor-made and which is copyright its author or authoring company, has a price; to start it, you either install it straight to your happy Lisa_OAC PC, or you get a proper type of Y2000-compliant PC and make it into a Lisa_OAC PC, and THEN install the game or commercial application. Given that you have at least one or two copies of the Lisa_OAC CD in your library, you are free to give the extra Lisa_OAC CDs away to friends who might want to see what this is all about. You can even copy it to your websites or put it inside a book and mass-duplicate it. As long as it is absolutely unmodified in every sense, there is no limit to how many copies you can make of the Lisa_OAC CD. Make a billion, if you like, and send it to the stars. On the other hand, make a strong discernment in your mind between the Lisa_OAC CD, which, however immensely rich and huge it is in structure, is totally free, and the tailor-made program which you might have bought. This program is owned by you and it always goes along with the buying of a commercial program a certain responsibility to avoid letting it fly away into a free copying category. You put it in your library or safe or whatever, and usually also make some private backups of it, but in NO WAY do you give a copy of it (beyond to a trusted friend or two who promise to delete it after having tested it, and who is in on the premises) to anyone, in any form. In that way, it gets fun'n'interesting to make new open source commercial programs for us all. Indeed, the Lisa_OAC CD will enable you to make all sorts of programs for good low-res high-quality entertainment on a lone PC in need of company. Now do you also have R1, R2 and R3? They install into a companion part of the disk. They are not part of LISA_OAC formerly, but when installed, R1, R2 and R3 provide a doorway for LISA_OAC into the possibilities of USB flashdisks and CD-burning and some other perhaps useful things. Good news are, R1, R2, and R3 are also free. You get the 10 MB-bundles for them at yoga6d.org/lisa_oac (or search for Lisa_oac if you have another type of network, and find my main files). You find in this document (below) explanation how to sew them together to r1.zip, r2.zip and r3.zip, and you find there also an example program of how to burn the unzipped large binary file in each to each of three CDs. The R1 will then boot your PC. If you have a blank PC with several dozens of gigabytes, say 40 GB or 80 GB, then set aside 20 GB for LISA_OAC and 20 GB for installing the R1, R2 and R3. The instructions are all in this document for how to do it. Even if you don't want to do this at once, I recommend you to keep it in the back of your head. Of course, you can begin to experiment with the Lisa_OAC using it as the only partition on a PC, or have another type of partition than the R-Cds. Yet the full-fledged sense of working with it -- despite the numerous advantages when a PC is primarely an internet or application terminal for other platforms -- involves having a PC with just these two partitions exactly, and nothing else. That was the note. Now let's begin at the beginning. This document is called, and is about, etc ======================INSTALL.TXT begins REALLY here:)=========== INSTALL.TXT Very quick resume -- more in detail afterwards: This is INSTALL.TXT as brought alongside both LISA_CD.ZIP and LISA_OAC.ZIP. Confer an net site like yoga6d.org/lisa_oac to get the LISA_OAC.ZIP which contains a burnable CD ("iso image") which can give rise to a bootable CD for full install of the Lisa / Lisamenu Operating Approach for Computers with the Lisa_CD programming language for also Cartoon Dimension (manga-inspired, low res, consult front page of yoga6d.org etc) completely installed. If you have already the FIRTH234.ZIP OAC then also install LISAMENU.ZIP by unzipping it and its TEXT.ZIP inside C:\BOEHM\BOEHMIAN, then get LISA_CD.ZIP and make a subdirectory of C:\BOEHM\BOEHMIAN called LISA and unzip it into there; then type HM CD LISA COPY *.BAT .. to get the .BAT files up into the main directory. Okay, that was the quick version. Now slower and more in detail. In fact, I can take you here to every element of installation of the LISA_OAC to a completely blank PC even with a free GNU GPL version of Red Hat, an early one, 8.0, as companion platform to the LISA_OAC, because LISA_OAC is for creative solitude work whereas the companion platform provides simplistic USB flashdisk support (and the like). So this document has four sections: 1. How to install Lisa_Cd as extension to Lisamenu OAC 2. How to install Lisa_Oac to a completely blank PC, if you have the Lisa_OAC CD (do this if you have bought a commercial game or application, and have also got the Lisa_OAC CD, and have a PC which has not got any such software as this installed before) 3. How also to install RH8 which is based on CDs R1, R2 and R3, as is recommended 4. How to make the CDs -- the R1, R2, R3 and even the Lisa_OAC CDs beginning only with an internet connection -- getting and assembling the 10 MB-bundles download from yoga6d.org/lisa_oac, and burning them to a CD so as to make the CD bootable Some will want to begin at point 4. That is why it is point 4, rather than point 1. Is that really why? Hm, is that how the word 'why' is supposed to be used? It's KICB. KICB (Keep it complex, buddy, an alternative to KISS). * * * * 1. HOW TO INSTALL LISA_CD AS EXTENSION TO LISAMENU OAC You already have Lisamenu OAC. You probably also have something like RH8 as a companion partition. So you get http://www.yoga4d.org/lisa_cd.zip to an usb portable disk and insert it into the platform. The Lisamenu is the first partition, you have earlier on written mkdir /a and mkdir /b and mkdir /c as in the ordinary setup. Having started the Linux, either in text mode or in a Terminal opening in the graph mode, you write mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /a mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /c cp /a/*.zip /c/boehm/boehmian umount /c umount /a reboot Then, when it is done with the unbooting of itself, you switch the PC off, wait some seconds, switch it on and it starts. You type XO to get to Lisacode or exit from whatever graphic startup you might have set it to start with in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT. Then you type AT HM MKDIR LISA MVFILE LISA_CD.ZIP LISA CD LISA UNZIP LISA_CD COPY *.BAT .. And it's done. Then, henceforth and to eternity, all you have to do is to type NOD or (for more intros) STARTIT when you have exited out to Lisacode and see the $$$Lisacode$$$ prompt (type XO to go to Lisacode initially, when Lisamenu starts). There are also many other ways of starting Lisa_cd, more about this in the manual you get up when you click yourself through STARTIT. Good luck 2. HOW TO INSTALL LISA_OAC TO A COMPLETELY BLANK PC, IF YOU HAVE THE LISA_OAC CD Start up the PC with the CD (you may have to alter the boot menu). The PC might complain and beep and what not during some of the many restarts you will do. Switch off, wait a full twenty seconds or more, then switch on, and do not merely reboot, each time it here says 'switch off and then on', and prior to this, write DIR and press ENTER, then press up-arrow to get the DIR word up again, and press ENTER once more, just to flush maximally to the harddisk. Okay? Be tough and do it hard and straight and correct. ONLY INSTALL TO A PC WHICH IS EITHER TOTALLY EMPTY OF DATA OR ONE WHICH YOU HAVE TOTALLY MADE BACKUP OF ALL IMPORTANT DATA SO THAT YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT WHICH IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU INSTALL LISA_OAC: NAMELY THAT ALL OF THE HARDDISK IS UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY WIPED OUT. ERASED. IN TOTO. IF YOU HAVE DONE THIS INSTALLATION PROCESS A MILLION TIMES, THEN YOU CAN VARY AND ATTEMPT TO DO IT IN WAYS WHICH PRESERVE DATA BUT EVEN THOSE WHO ARE EXPERT IN OTHER OPERATING APPROACHES ARE ADVISED TO DO THEIR BACKUPS BEFORE LAUNCHING THIS ENTERPRISE. WARNING HAS BEEN GIVEN AND WILL NOT BE REPEATED. THANK YOU FOR THE ATTENTION. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DATA. The PC has booted. It is a Y2000-compliant PC. Perhaps you have pressed ENTER many times or press A for A)bort many times or I)gnore many times in order to get to the harddisk prompt line -- whatever. If your PC is okay then the installation will be easy. I have totally avoided all sorts of auto-installations because, unless you set a hundred men to make it perfect, a manual installation is way more reliable; and will in special cases even do it better than the auto-install of the hundred men of the empire. THE DAYS OF THE EMPIRE HAS COME TO AN END. THE DAWN OF SOMETHING NEW IS EMERGING. Anyway, you have booted, you are at the command line. You access software which is fully with sources and all original acknowledgements and respective GNU GPL licenses and what not in the fully completed installed version on the harddisk, e.g. in C:\CONTRIB and by the file searcher U63 you'll find it. You do now what is a http://www.freedos.org FreeDOS GNU GPL enhanced -- but early, relative to their later work, and modified in the kernel -- approach to get the vfat-partition going, in a way which is, shall we say, inspired by Microsoft's MS-DOS but not limited to what it once was, and not made so as to agree with the direction that that thing took with the graphical enforcement. By the way, so it is said also here: my use of the FreeDOS as kernel for the Lisamenu operating approach for computers is entirely my decision based on the fact that their work has been distributed on a GNU GPL basis. You have booted, and you type FDISK and press ENTER. I will not describe any key-press in detail for you are not a slave but a free woman, or a free man, with an intelligent mind and heart. Next, you confirm very large disk access. You choose List partitions just to see. You choose Delete partitions, and select one by one, if there are any on the disk, and confirm each deletion. And you take List partitions again, to check that nothing is there. Then you take Create primary dos partition. You set aside 20000 MB -- twenty thousand mega, or twenty giga, but not more and rather not less either (in principle, though, up to 28000 or so). So if you harddisk is bigger, you do not confirm that all of it is going to be given this partition. If you are going to install R1, R2, R3 CDs you will let them do that work on the remaining part, which must not be much less than an additional 20000 MB. Having created that primary dos partition, you will, before you exit Fdisk, make sure that you select Set active on the main menu. This will make it come alive as C: as soon as it is formatted. You exit fdisk. Type DIR twice and switch off; wait; switch on. As you reboot from CD, it will very often complain at this stage -- a lot -- but you a)bort or i)gnore enough until you are back at the command line. You type FORMAT C: and type YES when it asks. (If you type FORMAT C: /U it will do a lot work which, in contrast, won't take a minute or two, but rather a day or two; I have never had use for it, but to hack a half-destroyed harddisk to work it might do the trick.) Switch off and on. This time you type several lines. (Do not use the COPY command with a single dot, it has an issue; use COPY as I do it here.) After the COPY command with the .ZIP in it, it is reasonable and correct that the PC keeps on working for several minutes. SYS C: C: DIR D: DIR D: COPY C:CWSDPMI.EXE COPY C:UNZIP.EXE COPY C:LISA_OAC.ZIP UNZIP LISA_OAC Then, a coffee break. But before you do the haleluja part, call on the freeware MRBOOT34 as follows: MRBOOTER The explanation, put very very simply, for why SYS C: is not enough to configure the harddisk to boot straight into Lisamenu is that there are two levels to each boot, a primary and a secondary level. The SYS concerns the secondary level. The primary level must also be programmed correctly; only on an absolutely blank disk would the SYS C: be enough. When you install R1, R2 and R3, they will organize themselves with a new primary level -- at this primary level there will be a selection opportunity -- to boot to this partition, or that? That primary level, as far as R1, R2, and R3 are concerned, is called GRUB. R1, R2 and R3 are much infatuated with GRUB, and would not understand a thing if started by MRBOOTER. (I mention this in case somebody tries to do this in opposite sequence, something which is possible but should probably in case be done by sustaining GRUB but modifying its startup-parameters; however there might be some more subtle issues if you do not let Lisamenu be the first partition). You are into MRBOOTER and you are going to follow its menu. It says -- press ENTER when a partition is marked -- so do that. With only one partition installed, this is simple. Then it gives you a function key, I do not remember which at the moment, to proceed from this page to the next page of its functionality. Press this function key. Also here you will press ENTER (and if you have more partitions, use arrows to go up and down the list, to select the bootable ones). You will write a name. Write LISA_OAC or something. You will again press a function key, as announced by the program, to proceed, and then get it written to the disk. It warns, as it should about the implications of such a daring action; dare it, then exit the program, do DIR twice, switch off. Alright, haleluja! You can start Lisamenu, it is all there, if it is into a good enough PC. 3. HOW ALSO TO INSTALL RH8 WHICH IS BASED ON CDS R1, R2 AND R3, AS IS RECOMMENDED Insert CD marked R1, boot with it, press ENTER. The R1 CD will give info on when to insert the other CDs. This is not my product and there is much which I would have done different as to the installation; the questions are not always what they seem; and, though I give some more info on all this in the MTDOC.TXT, which is c:\boehm\boehmian in the finished installation in the Lisa_OAC partition, I advise anybody but an expert on this version in particular to stick, as doggedly and happily as possible, to what I here indicate. There will be warnings and such at many points -- also when you let it make the partition table itself, and it discovers, shockedly, that you have used FDISK already -- but do override all those statements of concern by clicking on Ok or Ignore or whatever it asks for. Be absolutely unignorant, and click on ignore, to make RH8 sing its song. And do not, repeat, do not, be hypnotised by its self-advertisement; it is a silly utility, but I love it -- but only as a silly utility. All the sources for this product, and I have not changed a bit in it, as well as these three CDs in particular, are widely available all across the world-wide internet. I have chosen to pay to upgrade the capacities of my sites to keep this there because sometimes, awed by version numbers, people do not properly preserve that which is good from the past; and it serves the prospect of compassionate anarchy and its first-hand mindful perceptive work situations that there is a full stability as to the utility portions of the harddisk, and that we can be at ease with that very essential component of our working life. Press ENTER. Wait; then use right-arrow to select "skip" and press ENTER. Click NEXT with mouse (if it doesn't show, it isn't standard at all). Click NEXT again. And again. And again. Then select CUSTOM Installation Type and click NEXT. Click NEXT. Click Ignore if warning. Click Ignore if another warning. Select Keep all partitions... and click NEXT. Click Ok on warnings. About here, the GRUB boot loader menu will want to have some assistance from you. You may have to click a little bit up and down to get it right. This is basically how: Click on Linux, click on Edit, and change name to RH8. Click on DOS, then Edit, and change name to Lisa_OAC. That should be /dev/hda1, unless you are an expert doing variations. Here, you also click on Default Boot Target. That means that when you switch on the PC and just wait ten or twenty seconds or whatever, the Lisa_OAC will be what it is booting. When all options show correctly, click Next. Unselect "Active on Boot". Click NEXT. Click CONTINUE and CONTINUE and CONTINUE if error boxes. Click on No Firewall, then Next. (This PC is set up for creative use in solitude; use an entirely different set of partitions for a network PC; but here we want a clean, pure, open PC. Just remember not to expose it to any broadband.) Click NEXT, NEXT, and at root password type veryhealthy and then tabulator -->| button and veryhealthy again; change later. As user, make one which is not going to be used in the standard setup, but which is there, just in case. Click Add type perhaps nina then press the tabulator button then type veryhealthy tabulator-button veryhealthy tabulator and nina again and click OK. Click Next. Unselect both MD5 and Shadow and unselect anything like this then click Next. Use scrollbar and go down to the bottom of the package list and click to the left of the word "EVERYTHING". This is not actually everything when it comes to languages -- the installation is impossibly large and extremely complicated if all languages are selected; pls only select English, when we come around to that. So Click NEXT. Then click NEXT. It installs. However, remember that it has not done any testing of video for real; so unless you think it is fun to do this installation of RH8, which may easily take several hours, over and over again, stick doggedly to the next info here. After a good while it will ask for cd number two, ie, R2. Input this and click to go on. Then comes cd number R3. Click to go on with this as well. Get some coffee and get the final part right -- for it can be tricky unless you do it exactly as described or have a very very splendid videocard indeed -- and this part of the setup sequence must also be wholly right for it to boot at all. (Why not tea? Because tea is too peewish). Next, select No and click Next for floppy (unless you want it; it is however not easy to use). Select VESA driver (generic) under Other, select 4MB Video card RAM -- unless you are adventurous in the sense of extreme sports. Click Next. Click Next. Select 256 Colors (8 bit). Let 1024x768 be there. ===> Select TEXT for login type!!! <===== Then video card installation can be changed AFTER the installation to harddisk. Otherwise, it has got to be right at once. Click NEXT and click EXIT. When it starts up, type root as user id and then veryhealthy or whatever you wrote. Then write passwd whenever you want to change the password. The rule is that when you have chosen a really, really good password, it will say BAD password. That is the clue: BAD means very, very good in this context ;) As a consequence, when it says BAD password, it also means that the password is accepted. Just type the identical token twice. It also accepts it even though it doesn't say it is BAD, it is just not that good when it isn't BAD, got it? Next, type mkdir /backup mkdir /a mkdir /b mkdir /c mkdir /backup1 mkdir /backup2 mkdir /backup3 Then type startx If the video doesn't start, consult MTDOC.TXT, the bottom there, for some tips. It should start if it did work with Lisa_OAC and you selected 1024*768 with 256 colors (8-bit). Next time you log in, type startx at once. Switch off by typing reboot after sessions, then switch it physically off when Linux has done pouring out its infernal messages about killing all. Don't worry that the graphics, when exited, leads to a lot of Gnome-messages. You can force the graphics away by ctrl-backspace if I remember correctly. The only thing that really requires installation -- and it is fast -- is the CD-burner. Select it from the top of the list of some system utilities from one of the main branches of the graphical menu (I forget which). Select the Setup part of it, and select HD settings, and Browse until you get the /backup folder as its main folder. Then Exit it, and it stores that info until next time. That means that it will read and write all .img iso files at that folder. General info: when you want to backup a folder from Lisa_Oac into a flash usb disk, write this, after inserting the usb disk and waiting half a minute. If you do it with graphics on, select Terminal from system tools (more info in MTDOC on setting up e.g. analog modem). mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /c mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /a Use only -- and this is important, or the flash disk may have to be entirely reformatted (an iMac classic 9.x will do so kindly, suggesting a PC format on it, if you plug in a corrupt flash disk to it) -- one type of flash disk in one RH8 session (okay, there is a way if you plug in another, but it is a chance to take -- it is then sdb1 instead of sda1). Also, always wait before doing the mount, and always do umount before unplugging it. The -t vfat is mandatory the first time only, afterwards, it can usually be skipped. Do an umount /a or umount /c too much if you are unsure. (Use /b for extra mounting). Suppose you have made a new subfolder to c:\boehm\boehmian called myfolder and you want it straight over to flashdisk. Then do cp /c/boehm/boehmian/myfolder /a -r Or the other way: cp /a/myfolder /c/boehm/boehmian -r For individual files, skip the -r parameters, and prefer to deal through directories at usb disks (rather than putting individual files on top of the usb disk, though it is also possible): mkdir /a/letters cp /c/yourtext/letter3.txt /a/letters Or the other way: cp /a/letters/*.txt /c/yourtext And so on. If you have inserted the flashdisk here and there, and you REALLY are sure you have backup of everything that is on it, and you want to wipe it clean, do this -- but I have one rule which I practise whenever I do an rm command in any platform, and this rule is ten times strengthened whenever there is a * part of the picture, and a hundred times strengthed when the -rf is also there (for rm * -rf wipes all the Linux away in a blink without asking, and so, if any command which contains these characters are typed wrongly with regard to blanks, this might annihilate a lot of files) -- and the rule is: look at it, and look at it again, and yet again, before pressing enter. rm /a/* -rf Nevertheless, it has to be said, doing this on a flashdisk does it mighty good sometimes. Then do cd /root if you have done a cd into one of the recently-mounted volumes (otherwise one cannot dismount them), then umount /a umount /c and wait -- the longer the more megabytes have been handled. An usb disk might keep on blinking; then go take a break, perhaps a coffee, don't unplug it while it does that. Let it umount in peace. Give it leisure, give it duration. The writing to them might happen ONLY when you do the umount. See MTDOC for additional hints. Basically, when doing anything with GIMP, stick on doing right-click with the mouse while pointing over the opened image. Inserting a cdrom might or might not lead to an automatic opening of it on the graphical panel. Doing something like ls /mnt/cdrom should list it. Otherwise there is something called /dev/scd0 if I remember correctly. To get it out, close any graphical windows displaying anything with it, and do cd /root so that you are no longer accessing it, and right-click over it and select eject. This is slightly more tricky sometimes when in the text-only mode (at the moment I don't remember if there is a simple eject command; but I do well remember that I did an umount on a cd which only led to the result that I could not access more CDs without rebooting in it.. such things is solved by the Gnome visual stuff, it is good for something..). There is a GFTP or whatever it is called there which, alongside extremely simplistic (but up to the level of accessing panels with cookies and mail and such) Mozilla 1.0 internet usage with something like an analog modem if your PC has a real serial port (or maybe you have the courage of setting the Ethernet up), work well. Indeed, most of yoga4d.org and yoga6d.org has been made in this fashion. As editor, gedit is fine. The oowriter command is suitable when you need to get the .rtf rich text format based on a .htm file; you must then do some copy and pasteing and select File->New a couple of times, indicated very quickly in the UTILITY panel of Lisamenu. The scanner and printer access is likely to be out of date unless a revolution back to the primaries and standards have happened with the printer manufactorers. Other Mozilla's exists and some of them can be found to be compatible with some versions of Java applet plugins but my advise is keep it simple, intelligent one KISIO. HOW TO MAKE THE CDS -- THE R1, R2, R3 AND EVEN THE LISA_OAC CDS BEGINNING ONLY WITH AN INTERNET CONNECTION -- GETTING AND ASSEMBLING THE 10 MB-BUNDLES DOWNLOAD FROM yoga6d.org/LISA_OAC, AND BURNING THEM TO A CD SO AS TO MAKE THE CD BOOTABLE Alright, so you have got all the 10 MB-bundles from yoga6d.org/lisa_oac, or a fully trustworthy, identical mirror set up by somebody, and the downloading occured through a directory structure rather as follows -- and you also get my doggy freeware if you need it (it just joins files seamlessly). You download perhaps by RIGHT-CLIKCING and selecting there SAVE TARGET AS.. or something like that, while moving pointer device over each file. The Doggy programs are given directly -- they are performable files, not .zips or anything -- and in this case it is extra important you select an option to save, perhaps by right-clicking, rather than merely open the file. The program DOGGY.EXE for MsWindows should be saved by you in a way which indicates it is for MsWindows, and this is a separate program completely from DOGGY.EXE for dos-compatible kernels; and the (lowercase) doggy program for Linux is again another program -- but they perform rather exactly the same, compiled with GPP in Linux, DJGPP in Lisamenu, and MinGw GPP for MsWindows/Vista and the like. The Doggy program is freeware, but made for this context. Here is the file structure, in place someday from June 2007 and onwards in full: [yoga6d.org/lisa_oac/download/lisa] a1.dat a2.dat . . [lisa_oac/download/r1] a1.dat a2.dat . . [lisa_oac/download/r2] a1.dat a2.dat . . [lisa_oac/download/r3] a1.dat a2.dat . . [lisa_oac/download/doggy/windows] doggy.exe [lisa_oac/download/doggy/linux] doggy [lisa_oac/download/doggy/dos] doggy.exe cwsdpmi.exe unzip.exe [lisa_oac/download/burnwind] burnwind.zip How many .dat's there are in each vary somewhat. What is in common is that each such set of many dozens of .dat's are to be joined together by my freeware DOGGY to one .zip. This you do by having four folders, named lisa, r1, r2, r3, and copy the whole bunch to each, keeping tongue straight and not mixing them up. You also add the doggy.exe if you are doing it in a Windows XP or Windows Vista compatible environment -- in a very wide definition indeed, since this is a pure simple file adder -- and the doggy program from the linux folder if it is anything like Linux (presumably also Apple OS X, but Lisa_OAC demands a fully standard PC and the bootcamp stuff of Apple as of 2007 anyway ain't anywhere near the real thing -- it compares to the distinction between walking on the moon and studying it from earth). The thing to do is to start doggy within each folder. The program is stupid as a dog and accepts no parameters. It either merges, by command 'm' which it asks you for, or splits, by command 's', and it always uses the same filename inputs for merging a1.dat, a2.dat, and so forth; and it always outputs this, when merging, to NEW.ZIP (and when splitting, it takes BIG.ZIP and outputs the a1.dat, a2.dat and so on). Doggy always looks only in the current folder. This folder is current if you double-click on the DOGGY.EXE in MsWindows, supposing it has the relevant .dat's in the same folder. In Linux, the program doggy can be started by command ./doggy when you have done something like cd /lisa first, to make the newly made folder called /lisa current (mkdir /lisa first, in case), and there is usually a need to do 'change mode' of the file to make it performable, -- the quick and unsafe way, but safe enough if the program is trustworthy, is chmod 777 doggy or was it chmod doggy 777 -- I am sure you get it right. And then, in DOS, you include, in each folder, also the two associated programs UNZIP.EXE and CWSDPMI.EXE -- all acknowledgements and relevant sources in the full Lisa_OAC firth platform of course -- because it handles memory. This is automatically called on. (Not all forms of more or less msdos-compatible mini-operating systems can run this program, you might even get COPY to join the files correctly with luck.) In DOS, just type DOGGY and press Enter. When Doggy is started, type m and press ENTER. A bunch of stars proceed to come out; eventually it will have done its job and NEW.ZIP (or the lowercase of it) exists in the same folder. Having done this, the MsWindows hyperactive menu system for dummies will usually display a zipper which one can, without employing any such item as is called mind, double-click on to unzip. Do this. It will reveal a file, slightly larger, which is suitable to be burned directly to a CD. So, in all platforms, do sustain a directory structure in which there is one folder, perhaps called Lisa, which contains the set of .dat files for Lisa, and, if you have also got hold of the R-Cds, do keep them in folders named such as R1, R2, and R3. Run doggy in each of them and get the .zip produced; unzip each of these .zips and the 600-700 MB cd iso file will be produced. These will have different names and if you use something like RH8 Linux to burn them, you might want to move all these four huge files into one directory perhaps called /backup which is also set to be the main directory for the CdBurner, and you will then also want to make sure that their suffix is .img, although this may not at all be necessary for other tools. The deeper reasons for why a huge file which has nothing visual about it is called an 'image' we leave to the philosophers and linguists to argue about. In Linux, the command unzip new.zip will usually be the right thing to type (one for each folder, do cd /r1 next and so on) and the exact same thing will do in DOS; although in the latter one might, to humor oneself, write it in uppercase. So, it is that simple. Go to each folder in turn, each having the .DATs in it, and the DOGGY program, and run the DOGGY program with the 'm' for merge command in each, with each folder set to the current each time -- and this is simply a matter of double-clicking on DOGGY in the ordinary framework of MsWindows/Vista or the like, and typing m and press ENTER there. Then unzip the resulting new.zip in each. Then start up your favourite CD burner program, if you have one -- the type which is just advanced enough to allow you the option of burning ISO-files, so-called, directly to the CD, rather than just throwing content files into it. To burn the CD, the approach I advise is to use either Linux or MsWindows. I know how to burn a CD in RH8 Linux and perhaps you do. However, there are many tools available for the many versions of Linux which are easier to use than the rather early, yet trustworthy, RH8 Cd-burner, so I will not bother this text with a lengthy description of what buttons to click on it. Assuming also that there is a steady flow, up to some point, of iso-burning tools for MsWindows/Vista and the like, I have just selected one standard open source package and put it in a .zip called burn-windows- completely-down, or burnwind.zip for short, which I happened to chance upon after some brief searching on the Internet and which happened to work at first attempt, although it is just an example. Burning bootable CDs with an iso-image is a fairly standard reportoire of most accountable CD-burning tools unless they are made by particularly distasteful empires such as Microsoft. (Dvd and the other ones to come I won't even talk about -- CD, however, is a standard which has a meaningful size relative to the standard PC -- I dislike movies). The burnwind.zip unzips and then it installs and explains all about itself, who has made it, the licenses and so on, and it is untouched by me, it is exactly as is found; and it explains itself okay, I guess, when you feed it with the suitable iso files, which you get from each of the subfolders of the lisa_oac. So you will make one CD called LISA_OAC, and (as an option, as an utility partition which is recommended but not required), the set called R1, R2, and R3. I have had nothing whatsoever to do with R1, R2, R3 either, except that I am fond of them and used to them being installed. These are one set and R1 is the bootable one of them although they are burned in identical manners, from the iso image. These are the GNU GPL, and thus freely copyable when whole and unchanged, version of the Red Hat 8.0, the version which became Fedora instead of becoming 9.0, and it is rather early but it helps affirm the PC Y2000-compliance standard very well. It has Mozilla 1.0, and so forth. Consult its licenses and acknowledgements and it is a product which you must contact the Red Hat company about if you want to do anything beyond GNU GPL-oriented recopying. It allows the USB disks to be accessed and it allows CDs to be burned and that's the most important role it has, for the Lisamenu platform is very happy all on its own and does not bother with such extras. It easily, both ways, accesses the Lisa partition of the harddisk as well as any vfat-formatted (less than 28 GB sized) usb disk plugged into it. For those who are very uncertain about how to use the Lisa_Cd and want to save time, do not bother about R1, R2 and R3 but know that they are there and that there is occasional talk about this utility platform also in documents such as the MTDOC.TXT which is available throughout the whole of the Lisamenu platform, and which documents my Firth language. Having got as far as to have made the LISA_OAC CD, and maybe also the R1, R2, and R3 CD, I'd say -- Congratulations! -- and then proceed to point 2 and perhaps also 3. ..BY THE WAY, * What you have got when you have installed the LISA_OAC in full, as e.g. from yoga6d.org/lisa_oac, is not just the FIRTH234.ZIP with its PROGRAMS.ZIP extended to LISAMENU.ZIP and, of course, LISA_CD.ZIP, but you also have LOGOLIKE.TXT and START.TXT in the main C:/BOEHM/BOEHMIAN folder. That, and exactly that, is what you have got. The startup of the C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT is modified so that the mouse pointer has more sensitivity than in the FIRTH234.ZIP setup, as I think I explained relative to the Lisamenu.zip package -- the line with mouse has a /R1 in it. And instead of calling Seville (which is wrongly named as Sydney in the B menu, for that is what it was once called), it calls Lisaup. To get to Lisa_cd fast after this startup, type XO press Enter then type NOD and press Enter. this document completed early may 2007 by aristo tacoma alias henning von weber alias stein von reusch. Stein Henning Braten Reusch, who sometimes uses the name Henning von Weber due to a great-great- grand-mother who appears to be related to a german musician; the notion of using several name is not as much as to disguise as to generate a lively artistic impulse for producing a variety of products, and a commonly apply strategy in a diversity of cultures which regard names not just as tags or tokens or labels but as a kind of meaning sound or mantra. The name 'Yoga' as in 'Yoga4d' and 'Yoga6d' refers to nothing but the broad ambigious general sense of wholeness as in the early Indo-Aryan Sanskrit language.
